Pope Francis addresses the United States Congress

Pope Francis addressed to the United States Congress today. Here is a transcript of his speech, as well as a link to a video recording:

Included among the many important and beautiful ways he talked about how we need to be addressing the problems of the world, he said this:
“…if we want security, let us give security; if we want life, let us give life; if we want opportunities, let us provide opportunities.”
(These words seem akin to me of the he chose, of Saint Francis.)
It seems to me, that with any policy decision, if we were to ask ourselves if this statement is mirrored in the policy being considered - then we would be charting a true course on the path of the future that lives deep with our hearts. For such is the path of hope and promise, centered in love and truth, of the deepest expression of “liberty and justice for all”.
