Aligning with a prayer written for President Obama

A comment I posted on Prayers for a New America, responding to the beautiful and profound Prayer \for President Obama posted on May 24.


God Bless you, President Obama, in the depth of who you are and what you bring for America. I bow to the depth with which you wrestle with the central questions of who we are as Americans and what that means in regard to the principles we must not compromise, in the effort to protect our country and its citizens from those who would do us harm. http://www.politico.com/multimedia/video/2013/05/obamas-speech-on-counterterrorism-policy-full-.html?ml=po_v I pray that the hearts and the wisdom of the people of the nation, and of Congress, engage in the direction you lead. I hear in your voice to the call toward peace and away from war, and I recognize the steps you are taking and the great responsibility you are bearing. I honor the call and the need to bring hope and help to those around the world in poverty and despair who need our support and our friendship. Bless you in the depth of your integrity in your seeking to do what is right as best you can discern in the midst of the clouds of the times in which we live . May you be and feel upheld as is written above, in this beautiful prayer for you and for America.
