In Gratitude: John Prine

John Prine, beloved one, rest dear soul.

I am aching today with the loss of John Prine. I realized that I probably know more John Prine songs by heart than any other. Didn’t realize that 'til now. His heart - that reached in an brought out gems that he sang and shared for all of us – his appreciation for everyone in what he wrote, endearingly, and with irreplaceable humor. And in the the way he saw the world, and each of us. He gave us so much in the phrases he sang, that are about all of us, for all of us.
Bless you John Prine. Your words and music are indelible in the American Songbook, in my heart.
Robert

In his loss, I send as well my thoughts and prayers - for each one whom we have lost, in this time, and to and for their families and loved ones.

All are precious. Everyone, unique, special and a world in themselves and with each other. Gratitude to John Prine for upholding our knowing this, celebrating this, and lightly teasing one another as we seek to be our better selves, and remember the love and twinke in the eyes that makes us human. So human.
Blessing to All.

And here's a couple other of my favorites, from his first album:
Paradise

Please Don't Bury Me

Far From Me (from 1st album but a later performance)

Quiet Man  (reminds me of when at age 21 I hitchhiked around the country, with guitar & songbook)
