Pete Seeger's 100th Birthday is today!
Here is something I share, to celebrate with you that Pete Seeger's 100th Birthday is today, sent by musician Paul Winter,
I had the gift to have been present numerous times at political social Earth-supportive demonstrations (generally anti-nuclear) when Pete Seeger led the audience with his wonderful spirit and heart and voice and banjo, inspiring peace, justice, care for one another. and the spirit of joining together. He was true gift. There are concerts, celebrations and sing-a-longs happening all over (link: "Rise Up Singing")

Paul Winter says it well:
“Pete was our great American troubadour, our Abe Lincoln of music, who embraced the world, with a grand heart. He was a true warrior for the Earth, and our community of life. If I had to sum up the message of his life-journey, in one simple word, it would be the little two-letter word “us.” Pete was all about us."

Here are renditions of songs by Pete Seeger (*you may want mute the sound at first until you can choose"Skip Ad" after the 5 seconds):
- If I Had A Hammer
- If I Had A Hammer
- And: Where Have All The Flowers Gone
- Picture, if you will, a large crowd of people at a political rally on behalf of people and the earth.... singing together sometime toward the end of rally, led by Pete Seeger: We Shall Overcome
I am grateful beyond words and without bounds.
Also in the offering from Paul Winter, is link to a powerful recent song by Judy Collins, in her timeless, compelling, and in this song also haunting voice: "Dreamers".
Another favorite musician of mine, Jackson Browne, wrote and sings, with others: "The Dreamer".
Love and blessings to each of you, and to all people and all the Earth.
Love and blessings to each of you, and to all people and all the Earth.
